Financial inclusion is widely recognized as a critical component of economic development. This study aims to evaluate the role of microfinance banks in promoting financial inclusion in Sokoto State. A descriptive survey design was employed, targeting a population comprising four microfinance banks. Data were collected through the distribution of 400 structured questionnaires to randomly selected respondents within this group. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the formulated hypotheses. The findings revealed that account ownership significantly influences financial inclusion in Sokoto State. Therefore, the study recommends that microfinance banks collaborate with community and religious leaders to implement public awareness campaigns aimed at educating low-income earners in both urban and rural areas about the importance of opening bank accounts. Such initiatives would enhance financial security and independence while facilitating access to money transfers, loans, and various other financial services.
