This study evaluates the determinants of employee performance across Niger Delta oil and gas firms using a comparative moderated regression analysis of remote work strategies from 2021 to 2025. Grounded in the Job Demands-Resources model, the research examines operational productivity challenges among multinational and indigenous enterprises in Rivers, Delta, and Bayelsa states. Utilizing a cross-sectional survey design, primary data were gathered from a sample size of 332 respondents out of a target population of 4,500 administrative and technical personnel using structured questionnaires. Hypotheses were tested via hierarchical moderated multiple regression and Chow test analyses at a 0.05 significance level. The empirical results demonstrate that full-time remote work yields a weak positive relationship with task completion efficiency (β = 0.231, p < 0.05), whereas structured hybrid schedules strongly enhance technical output quality (β = 0.645, p < 0.05). Furthermore, digital infrastructure adequacy significantly moderates this relationship (β = 0.312, p < 0.05), and Chow test outcomes confirm structural performance disparities between multinational and indigenous operators (F = 4.821, p < 0.05). The study concludes that hybrid work models backed by robust technological readiness are vital for workforce efficiency. It recommends that petroleum firms institutionalize hybrid policies, upgrade virtual networks, and provide home-office support to bridge regional infrastructural gaps.
