Gulliver’s travel by Jonathan swifts is a unique social satire that critiques 18th century European society, human nature and politics. Through Lemuel Gulliver’s unreal journeys, swift satirizes the foolishness and errors of his time, by aiming at politics, morality, intellectual arrogance and social norms. Swifts sharp analysis spares no one and nothing, this exemplary satire revolves around Lemuel Gulliver’s character which is kind of character who encounters conflicts and is changed by it. This novel contains four voyages and each serve as allegorical critiques of colonialism, corruption, scientific hubris and humanity’s destructive impulses. Swift uses irony and humour to question rationality and norms in “Gulliver’s travels” through Lemuel Gulliver’s swift prompting readers to reconsider their view on society and human nature. It is regarded as a satire that critiques civilization in a way that still resonates with today’s audience.
